Fed up of this wind

by: Gromett November 25, 2009

For the last 10 days it has been hard to get a decent nights sleep due to the window literally kicking the van about.  I braved the driving rain and wind just now and jumped into the bus and sat down with my back against the side wall.  I am happy to report that it [...]

Changing from 12mm to 15mm

by: Gromett November 24, 2009

It appears that the 12mm pipework and fittings is actually 1/2″ and is more expensive than the 15mm parts.  I will be using John Guest (JG) speedfit parts only from now on. I am not far from Magnum Motorhomes so will take a trip up there as soon as funds allow. The other reason I [...]

Finally have the parts

by: Gromett November 23, 2009

I now have a water tank, a tiny sink, a water pump, the pipework and some fittings. 1 of the fittings is missing which is the one for the tank itself. 1 of the fittings is the wrong type.

This blog is worth looking at – Ambulance self build

by: Gromett November 19, 2009

http://kevskamper.blogspot.com/ He has done something interesting with the back of his van.  Using the rear off a caravan and bonding it to the Ambulance makes it look like a pro Motorhome rather than a converted ambulance.

Stripping the Van, Caktanks mess up.

by: Gromett November 18, 2009

I placed an order with CakTanks last wednesday and agreed with them that they would ship on Friday for Delivery Monday.  This would allow me to be there to receive the delivery.  On Monday I checked my bank account online and found that the money hadn’t gone out so I phoned CakTanks to check on [...]

Repairing fiberglass today

by: Gromett November 12, 2009

Today was quite a productive day.  I removed all the stickers on the back relating to it’s previous life as a Race Bus.  T-Cut the surrounding area and you can hardly tell.  Well apart from where the previous blue colour pokes through. The previous owners had not had much experience of large vehicles I think.  [...]

At a dead halt on internals

by: Gromett November 11, 2009

I have stripped out as much as I can inside for now.  The bus is unfortunately now full of wood and matresses etc.  So I need to do a tip run before I can remove the last bits.  I am about half way through now.

Bus Length and 3G aerials

by: Gromett November 9, 2009

I had some problems with my 3G last week,  it kept dropping the connection.  Now this is straight after I had installed Windows 7 so I was thinking of blaming the OS. However I ordered a 3G aerial with magnetic base.  I have been running it now for 4 hours without a single drop out [...]

Started painting the windows today

by: Gromett November 5, 2009

Removed some of the existing furniture so I could get to the windows and started spraying them. I just got a bog standard tin of Gloss Black car touch up paint, cleaned the windows then gave a very thin  coat.  Once this had dried (about 15 minutes) I put a thicker coat on and from [...]
