Fitting Deadlocks

Marking Out

Rather than a long descriptive text post I am just going to post the pictures.  If you have any questions please ask in the comments…

I paid £180 for 3 locks including VAT and Carriage.

Fitting them myself was a bit nerve racking but after the first two were done I am quite relaxed about doing them now.  I bought them from These guys and the service was excellent.

What a Plonka, riveted it in before I had fitted lock

At this point I got a little frustrated with my stupidity and drilled the lock hole blind.  I got much closer on this one than the first one but it wasn’t quite close enough.  I ended up with the key in my hand and the barrel wedged inside the door frame.  It took me about 45 minutes to jiggle and finagle the lock back out again and at this point totally forgot to take any further pictures.  This lock is now fully fitted.

I will leave myself a full day to do the last lock and will take a full set of pictures (I promise) .

I am a great believer in that you only learn by making mistakes yourself.  I think I must have made all the mistakes possible when fitting these but at least they work.  I am happy with them if not the process….
