I am having a rethink about the fridge situation. Currently the cupboard for the fridge is the same size as the wardrobe and I am think that space could be better used. I can’t put a 3 way fridge under the sink as I can’t ventilate properly over there.
However if I use a compressor fridge I don’t need external vents. Since I now have the 50Amp B2B system and will be installing 400 watts of Solar panels I will not be short of power. This makes me think a small shoreline compressor fridge would be ideal. It pulls 0.8 amps per hour so 20Ah per day which is easily restored via the B2B if the solar doesn’t do the job. Even in winter I would hope 400 Watts of solar could handle that plus my LED lights.
This change in plan has some upsides and downsides. The upside is I don’t have to cut out vents and flu for the current 3 way fridge saving me a lot of work. The downside is I have to find £399 for the new fridge. I think it is what I am going to do. The extra storage space will be handy.
